Objective

The network aims to address the scientific, technological, and socio-environmental challenges of mining in Brazil, simultaneously fostering internationalization, scientific output and innovation, and the development of highly qualified human resources.

The participating institutions possess recognized expertise in the field and offer complementary areas of knowledge, encompassing geosciences, engineering, chemistry, materials science, computer science, economics, and management, alongside experience in applied research, technological innovation, and university outreach. Aligned with the strategic pillars of the *Nova Indústria Brasil* (New Industry Brazil) initiative, the National Circular Economy Plan, and the National Mining Plan, the proposal seeks to consolidate a circular production system that is more efficient, innovative, digital, green, and export-oriented.

These objectives will be achieved by leveraging the expertise of the graduate programs in the mineral sector involved in this proposal. The initiative will comprehensively cover the entire mining value chain, from exploration, extraction, and mineral/metallurgical processing to production, infrastructure, waste management, and the handling of socio-environmental impacts, through sustainable and smart solutions.
