Researchers, Professors and Doctoral Students

Foreign researchers, professors and doctoral students outside Brazil will be able to enjoy four different modalities of scholarships and academic mobility opportunties offered by the institutions participating in the MineraMundi Network - International Research Network of Mining, Sustainability and Social Development.

These opportunities aim to promote academic mobility, scientific cooperation, and the strengthening of international relations among the institutions participating in the Network.

1) Academic Mobility Opportunities

a) Sandwich Doctorate in Brazil 

Target audience: doctoral students 

Period: from 6 to 9 months

Benefits: Travel Allowance (airfare), Health Insurance Allowance (US$90), Installation Allowance (around US$367), and Monthly Stipend (around US$367 per month).

b) Post-Doctorate in Brazil

Target audience: holders of a doctor degree without current link with an education/research institution 

Period: from 6 to 12 months

Benefits: Travel Allowance (airfare), Installation Allowance (around US$367), Health Insurance Allowance (US$90), and Monthly Stipend (around US$683 per month).

c) Visiting Professor in Brazil

Target audience: professors or researchers with interest in teaching classes or carrying out research work

Period: up to 3 months

Benefits: Travel Allowance (airfare), Monthly Stipend (around US$2,333 per month), Health Insurance Allowance (US$90), and Installation Allowance (around US$367).

d) Academic Mission in Brazil

Target audience: professors or researchers 

Period: from 6 to 14 days

Benefits: Travel Allowance (airfare), Daily Allowance, and Health Insurance Allowance (around US$90)

*The amounts are based on current CAPES regulations and may be updated in accordance with any changes to the applicable regulations.

**Payment: For Academic Missions, payments will be made directly to the beneficiary’s bank account in their country of origin. For other modalities, payments will be made directly by CAPES.

2) Candidacy

During the candidacy it will be necessary the submission of the following documents:

a) Academic-professional curriculum

b) Invitation Letter from a researcher/professor of a member institution of the Network (template available here)

3) Deadlines for submission of candidacy

• Candidates who wish to carry out academic mobility in the 1st semester of 2027 (start from March onwards): August 31, 2026
• Candidates who wish to carry out academic mobility in the 2nd semester of 2027 (start from July onwards): February 28, 2027
